  • How do vitamins impact my child’s health?
Supplementing a child’s diet with high-quality vitamins can help him/her reach his/her potential nutritionally. This should in no way be a replacement for the healthiest, most well-rounded, diet possible for the growing child. Vitamins are not a replacement for good eating habits; they are simply an addition to a healthy dietary intake. There is a large amount of emerging data that Omega 3 rich foods and supplements are critical to healthy immune systems, and may offer potential benefits for the prevention of cancer and cardiac disease.
  • How do I know which vitamin(s) are right for my child?
You should consult with a pediatrician when selecting vitamins for your child. Vitamins and nutritional supplements must be held to the highest standard possible for manufacturing and safety. While designing vitamins and nutritional supplements for children, extreme care must be taken to ensure the purity of the product. Lead, mercury and other toxins can easily be introduced into any food or supplement.
  • Is there ever a case where my child should not take a certain vitamin?
Yes. You should consult with a pediatrician before giving your child any vitamins. Always check labeling and manufacturing standards to ensure that there are no components in a vitamin or supplement that your child might be allergic to. Unlike some of our competitors, the facilities that Dr. D™ uses for manufacturing its supplements will not allow nut products on the premises and the facilities are not rented out for the purpose of manufacturing any other products that include such substances. Some supplements can cause stomach upset, but this is relatively uncommon in children.
  • Can adults take these vitamins?
Our products are absolutely safe for adults, especially those who have difficulty swallowing pills.
  • Can my child take these vitamins in combination with other brands of vitamins?
While most vitamins can be combined, parents must take great care in making sure that their children do not over-consume vitamins and supplements. Switching, or mixing and matching by an untrained individual could complicate the safety of the process. While little harm can be done by combining, it is not an optimal way to approach safe vitamin and supplement administration.
  • Which products are not appropriate for vegans?
Dr. D™ Vitamin C and Dr. D™ Iron are both vegan safe, all other vitamins are not appropriate for vegans.
  • Do the vitamins need to be refrigerated?
Dr. D™ Omega 3 is the only vitamin that we recommend you refrigerate for best usage.
  • How do I know the vitamins are safe?
The Dr. D™ nutritional supplement line is manufactured and tailored to specifications that Dr. Ditchek personally oversees. For more information, click here.
  • Are there any side effects?
When taking vitamins and supplements at the advised dosages, they are generally very safe. If they are misused, such as in the case of overdose, medical advice should be immediately sought. The use of any iron supplement can cause constipation, but that is generally a transient condition experienced as the body adjusts to iron intake. If the problem persists, please consult a health care provider immediately. When iron supplements are taken in large overdoses, it can cause stomach and gastrointestinal irritation and bleeding. This would require a significant overdose. If you suspect a misuse or overdose, immediately contact poison control or your health care provider for instructions and advice.
  • What should I ask my doctor about vitamins?
Parents should work cooperatively with their health care provider on the benefits of vitamins and supplements. Open discussion and respect of both the parent and health care provider’s opinions are critical. Always make your health care provider aware of all vitamins and supplements that your child is taking, especially prior to planning surgery or medical procedures.
  • Do I need a prescription to purchase these vitamins?
No, a prescription is not necessary to purchase these dietary supplements.
  • Can I buy these vitamins in a store?
No, Dr. D™ vitamins are distributed exclusively online by Pediagreen, LLC.

  • Is there any danger in vaccinating my child?
The dangers are minimal, but they do exist. Vaccines have increased the ability to raise healthy children in modern society. When Dr. Ditchek advises and counsels parents on vaccine safety and benefits, he always stresses the fact that today’s vaccines are studied and monitored by a variety of governmental agencies and a large number of HMOs that keep records on potential vaccine reactions. These methods have been critical in ensuring that the safety studies required by the FDA during vaccine licensing are reinforced as usage continues. The companies that manufacture vaccines are required to monitor these issues and react appropriately. Dr. Ditchek advises parents to visit informative websites and access other resources in order to learn everything that they can about the tremendous benefits of vaccination, while recognizing that, as with all treatments and therapies, there are always minimal risks.
